Purakaunui Inlet Bed & Breakfast at 30 Boundary Street, overlooks the inlet, out to sea and over the hills. The views are just gorgeous and too extensive to fit into this picture. Guests will enjoy private, self-contained accommodation in a tranquil coastal and country setting. Beautiful walks on beaches or in the hills are right at the doorstep. We are 25 minutes from Dunedin and 8 from the Orokonui Ecosanctuary, which is also home to our iconic kiwi. Port Chalmers is a spectacular 15 minute drive away where you will find restaurants, cafés, supermarket, garage, ATM, chemist and boutiques & craft shops.

Next door is a working farm and the farmer is happy for visitors to come and watch during the shearing season – a real entertainment! You can swim in the inlet in warm weather and there are plenty of beach towels. There is a full library with a wide selection of books.
